Gardens of Babylon partners with local non-profit organizations in the community by donating services in support of a network growing healthy soil, a healthy environment, and a healthy food system.

At St. Thomas Hospital, we designed a Healing Garden for their cancer recovery center. This garden was initiated to provide a healing outlet for patients and their families through gardening. Gardens of Babylon is also sponsoring a Spring 2009 addition to the Healing Garden, which will include a vegetable garden. www.stthomas.org

We have been working with the Cumberland River Compact on stream bank restorations, rain gardens, and educational programs. www.cumberlandrivercompact.org

Donations to the Harpeth River Watershed association contributed to the creation of a rain garden at their headquarters. www.harpethriver.org

Gardens of Babylon created Discovery Gardens in Nashville, a community gardening education program using inner city gardening to bring communities together to learn about growing food.

We’ve also worked with Friends of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park to restore Willow Oaks at the park suffering from poor soil and acid rain damage. www.bcmsp.org
